WHAT TO WEAR: Internship

March 18th, 2015 at 2:00am

As summer break is approaching, so are those summer internships we have all been applying to. Whether it’s with a magazine, firm or retailer, we all want to not only do our best, but feel our best! Dressing up for an internship or job of any kind can be daunting. What is too casual? What is too dressy? Is it appropriate to wear to the office? Dressing the part may not always be as easy as it seems.

This Fashionista is donning the ideal internship look. She kept it casual yet classy with her navy and white color scheme and preppy trend. Her white blouse with jeweled accents provided the perfect amount of femininity and complemented her jeweled bracelet and watch beautifully. The navy skirt was classic and work appropriate but was still fun and girly. Her bag was a nice addition to her simple and sophisticated look and went well with her color palette. The nude shoes were simple and the heel was the perfect length for an internship while the nude color helped elongate her legs and draw the attention upward to the rest of her fabulous outfit. To finish off, she added a pair of pearl earrings which maintained her feminine and classic office look.

This Fashionista’s look got the job done. It was fashionable, elegant and classic. Not only is she dressed appropriately, she’s also dressed fabulously, showing that no matter where you are (job, interview, or internship), your personality can always shine through. So not only will you be killing it at your internship, you’ll be ‘working it’ in the fashion department too!

One Simple Change: Got off of your internship early? You can make this work look casual by switching out the skirt for a pair of boyfriend jeans. It’s the perfect way to keep the look fashionable and comfortable even when you’re off the clock.
