WHAT TO WEAR: Internship

February 16th, 2015 at 2:00am

It’s snowing and the roads are horrible but your boss expects you to be at your internship at 8:00 a.m. sharp. Your alarm is buzzing and leaving your bed is the last thing on your mind but you have obligations. Now you could just roll out of bed, throw your hair in a braid and grab your leggings and sweater off the floor from yesterday. Or you could show your boss that not even snow can stop you and impress him/her with your trendy business casual outfit.

This Fashionista knows how to differentiate between business casual and business professional. Although a blazer may be the first thing to come to mind, business casual doesn’t always need it as you can keep it comfortable and fun. She opts for the black pixie pants to go for a clean look tucked into her black riding boots. Her maroon blouse adds a pop of color along with a little flare on the cuff of the sleeve; the gold embellishment ties in nicely with the studs on her boots.

Accessories are always a little tricky with any business related outfit because you want to keep a professional and polished look. The embellishment on the sleeves may be enough but adding a similar color necklace with small gold accents acts more as a collar to the shirt rather than necklace. Being on a college campus our most convenient laptop transportation is a backpack or sorority letter bag. Instead, choosing a simple, chic and plain colored bag ties in the whole look.

One Simple Change: Long day at the office? Go and grab some drinks at the local bar with friends. Leave the boots at home and throw on some cute wedges to dress it up.
