WHAT TO WEAR: Graduation

School’s out for the summer! Well, almost. There is still the dreaded finals week and then graduation. Graduation is a wonderful time to reflect on your time at school, the friends you made, the accomplishments you reached while looking toward your future. Graduation is hard to dress for as they are usually held outside, the temperatures are rising and you have to wear your cap and gown over whatever outfit you choose. But I want to focus on the attendee’s outfit. If you’re going to see your sibling, friend or sorority sister graduate this week, you have the freedom to wear whatever you want! The big question is: how do you look cute and stay cool?

This Fashionista answers that question for us. Her black floral dress is just the right amount of causal and dressy. Remember, it’s not your graduation and you don’t want to take the spotlight from the graduate’s big moment. Wearing a dress with straps leaves you worry-free about whether your dress is sliding down or not.

Pairing the dress with sandals is a smart move on this Fashionista’s part. If you’re outside, taking pictures on the graduation field, you’re not going to want to risk sinking into the ground and ruining your favorite pair of heels. Sandals let you show off your cute pedicure and are so much more comfortable.

The sun hat is so cute paired with this Fashionista’s curls. I love how the white hat highlights the white in the roses on her dress. A hat is a great alternative to sunglasses to keep the sun out of your face. She keeps her jewelry simple by added her Alex and Ani bangles and a gold necklace.

One Simple Change: It’s graduation, which means you’ll probably be going to a fancy restaurant after the ceremony. Just change into a pair of wedges or heels and you’re good to go!
