WHAT TO WEAR: From Cool to Hot

If you read my last article, you know that it takes a special kind of outfit to prepare you for a “winter” day in Florida. Sometimes it seems impossible to look fashionable while combating the bipolar weather. I have found that light layers with thin pants or jeans work best for me. As the temperature rises, I can take off a layer and store it in my backpack or purse without it taking up much space.

This Fashionista is prepared for the cool morning and the warmer afternoon, which exemplifies a typical day during the winter down here. She is keeping warm with a white, long sleeve T-shirt that is also not too heavy for when the temperature rises throughout the day. On top, this Fashionista is wearing a black, denim overall dress. (Can we talk about the contrast of those large silver buttons?!) Keep those legs free chica! Mixing black and brown has become a new thing I like to play with, so I am loving the brown, leather booties she finished this look off with. She is weather-sensible, comfy, and cute… the holy grail of an outfit!

I have always believed that you shouldn’t sacrifice your comfort for fashion (granted, I will wear those really cute heels that make my feet hurt). Not only should your clothes be physically comfortable on you, but you want to feel comfortable with what you’re wearing. So if you choose to face the winter, wherever you live, with sweatpants and a sweatshirt but still want to slay a little bit, maybe throw on a pair of booties to dress it up.

How do you remain fashionable in the face of winter?
