WHAT TO WEAR: From Cold to Bold

When I first moved to snowy Colorado, I was worried I would lose my fashion sense when always wanting to layer myself in a large North Face parka, while looking like I’m drowning in a scarf, beanie and winter boots. I quickly learned that with a fierce statement coat, that this was certainly not the case. This fashionista is rocking her solid black outfit for the winter, while layering up with a scarf and edgy Free People trench coat.

In the winter, black is the easy go to, but you don’t want to forget the details. This fashionista threw on her most comfortable Paige jeans, with the accented rips for style. Her Freebird booties can turn an outfit from bland to awesome.

If you are going to wear such a bold jacket, a simple outfit is key, but not too simple. You still want to be able to tie the jacket into the entire outfit’s feel. Since this jacket has the embroidered sleeves, slightly ripped jeans, and distressed shoes allow for the outfit to make its full statement.

Free People creates outwear that can be exceptionally stunning, look good on all, and most importantly, keep us warm in this icy weather. This jacket particularly makes it great for layering, and the Free People scarf keeps any part of the neck covered, allowing you to wear a thinner shirt. With this jacket, wearing a sweater underneath can sometimes be too warm while running in and out of classes.

This proof shows that it is easy to look bold and stylish while also being cold! No need to drown yourself in too much black, or too many puffy coats, beanies, scarves, and more when you have the perfect trench coat to keep you warm during the winter!
