WHAT TO WEAR: Falling for Layers

Ah, it truly is the most wonderful time of the year, and I’m not talking about Christmas. I’m talking about FALL. Fall is my favorite time of the year; the crisp air makes for a wonderful time when it comes to fashion. It is not too cold nor is it too hot. Currently in northern Virginia, the weather hasn’t quite cooled down yet but it is not nearly as hot as it was during the summer. The weather here also changes with the blink of an eye, so I’m not expecting the temperature to continue to drop anytime soon.

Two of the main problems I have when fall is approaching, and I assume others face this as well, is the ability to dress oneself without being too cold or too hot and how to make the most out of your summer clothes before fall goes into full swing. This Fashionista was a great representation of how to style your summer clothes into fall. She wore her high-waisted shorts from Charlotte Russe and a scoop neck shirt from Bloomingdale’s and paired the two with a tan knit sweater that belongs to her mom. She topped the outfit off with some sunglasses, various necklaces from J.Crew and some Keds.

This look is incredibly versatile as well. You can easily switch out the short sleeved top for a long sleeved one and even throw on some tights underneath the shorts, depending on the weather. Layering is such a fun way to get the most wear out of your summer clothes, all while transitioning into fall!
