WHAT TO WEAR: Day To Night

We all have those crazy periods of our lives where the only time we return home is to sleep and shower. Maybe you’ve just started a new job or are working on a big project.  Either way, I think we can all agree that after finishing a long day of work, the last thing we want to do before going out is to go home and change. If you’re the kind of person who’s always running from place to place, this Fashionista has some style advice for you.

We’re opening a ton of shows at my internship over the next few weeks. That means most of us are working or rehearsing for most of the day and then going immediately to the theater at night. When this happens, we need to think carefully about what to wear that will be comfortable enough to run around in all day while still being appropriate to wear while working at a show. This Fashionista has mastered dressing for both day and night. She’s sporting a striped swing dress made of a light cotton-knit material which is perfect for hot summer days. She pairs it with sunglasses and sensible sandals. The footwear choice is key for situations like this where you could find yourself having to run errands outside. However, this doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice beauty for comfort; this Fashionista proves you can have both. Another important element of this look is her large floral tote. This allows her to carry all the essentials as she moves from place to place, adding both style and function to her look. Lastly, she makes sure to stay good and hydrated out in the hot summer sun with a large reusable water bottle.

One Simple Change: To take this look from summer to fall, lose the sandals and add some opaque colored tights and booties. Finish it off with a chunky knit sweater for a look that transcends seasons.
