WHAT TO WEAR: Day To Night

This spring, designers brought a new meaning to the word athletic. Pairing running sneakers with dresses or sweatpants with heels and other athletic details with high end looks, Fashionistas/os everywhere were eager to take part in the new trend that combines athleticism and leisure, often known as “athleisure.”

This Fashionista looks like she just walked off of the ADEAM, Milly or Alexander Wang runway with her ready-to-wear look infused with athletic details. She wears a black dress, a staple piece for every Fashionista, layered with a chambray shirt. She finishes off the look with trendy Nike sneakers. Her ’50s-inspired sunglasses and accessories keep the look chic and sophisticated, while her sneakers and oversized shirt keep the ensemble casual and appropriate for class.

The relaxed fit of her dress and shirt makes layering easy. The pieces in her outfit are transitional not only for day to night, but also for transitioning from spring to summer or from summer to fall. Sneakers are ideal for all-day comfort and can easily be transitioned for a night out by swapping them with heels, flats or sandals.

As we start to count down the final days of this semester, we can’t help but want to relax at night and on the weekends with our friends. But we can’t forget that summer approaching also means that final exams are near. Wear something to class that you can easily transition into a nighttime look!

One Simple Change: Going on an interview but want to stay comfortable while you’re in class all day? Swap your sneakers for a pair of classic pumps, switch your chambray shirt with a blazer and grab a cup of coffee. You’re ready to go!
