WHAT TO WEAR: Day To Night

What’s a girl to do when she’s faced with a long day of classes, quickly followed by an eventful night with the girls and no spare time to change? We’ve all changed in the back of a car once or twice (don’t deny it), and I’m confident that we can all agree that we never want to try twisting and turning and squeezing in the backseats again. So why not dress for the night from the get go, like this Fashionista, who played down her dark, chic night look with a white knit cardigan thrown over her shoulders for the day?

This Fashionista exudes cool vibes in her flattering tank top that drapes to a T-shirt. She pairs it with the ultimate staple item in her closet: black denim. I am in love with how she cuffs her jeans in relation to where her boots hit her ankles. To complete the look with a bang, this Fashionista slipped into her rocker booties with the right amount of point to the toe and just enough height to the thick heels. A tan lightweight knit sweater is slung over her shoulders, which creates a laid back feeling. This Fashionista also plays with minimal accessories, showing us how impactful a simple white-face watch can be.

By keeping her look casual with the knit sweater, this Fashionista plays it cool for a day on campus. What I adore most about her look is how easily it can transition into an outfit for the night by leaving her sweater in the car as she gets out to meet her friends for dinner. Let’s hear it for the knit cardigan that helps keep her look casual for the day, while the dark burgundy tank top, black jeans and statement booties are to thank for this easy shift into the night.

One Simple Change: If you are styling yourself for a date night and you want to up the ante, there’s one simple change you can do to keep your outfit looking fierce. Swap out the beachy knit sweater for a killer black leather jacket and you are set for the night. Throw on a red lip for extra sass.
