WHAT TO WEAR: Day to Night

There were many things I had to get used to in college. One of my least favorites was laundry. Having three younger sisters, we dirty up a lot of clothes in one week, and as ashamed as my mother is about it, she just did all of our laundry for us. Not only did I have to learn how to do my own laundry, but I also soon discovered how terrible the washers and dryers are at a typical college. After shrinking half my wardrobe from drying it on the wrong setting, I began to wear my clothes multiple times before washing them. My saving grace was, and still is, clothing that can easily go from day to night.

This Fashionista has the perfect day to night ensemble that can easily transition from a day of shopping to a night on the town. This works well as day to night because of the head to toe black. Black instantly makes every outfit chic and sophisticated. The off the shoulder top adds a twist to an everyday blouse and black leggings are appropriate for just about every occasion. Tall boots are perfect for walking around during the day and can easily be replaced with some pumps at night. As far as the jewelry, stacked bracelets and a simple necklace are perfect for everyday. For night, simply replace the stacked bracelets for a gold cuff and trade your simple necklaces in for a statement piece.

This Fashionista totally rocked the indie look, but you can replicate the style with any look you choose. For a more preppy take, trade the black studded boots for some riding boots and add a cream colored blouse instead of black. To go from day to night, just switch those riding boots for some wedges, and you’re good to go!

One Simple Change: Take this look to your favorite concert simply by a quick shoe change. Trade your tall boots for some short black booties and you’re set to rock out!
