WHAT TO WEAR: Date Night

January 19th, 2015 at 2:10am

We all know the feeling of having somewhere to go and someone to impress. Figuring out what to wear becomes a challenge for even the most seasoned Fashionista. In my opinion, date night is one of the most difficult occasions to dress for. It’s essential to look cute, but you also have to be careful not to give off the “I’m trying way too hard” vibe (that might mean not wearing the bodycon mini dress and sky-high stilettos to Olive Garden, sorry.) That being said, there are plenty of ways to create a balance between casual and flirtatious that’s perfect for a date, and this Fashionista’s outfit is a perfect example.

The chambray top that this Fashionista is sporting is a simple piece which she gives life to by constructing the rest of her outfit with trendy items. Her feathered skirt is perfectly classy and flirty for any date. By choosing a pastel color palette, this Fashionista created a feminine feel that she made high-fashion with her accessories. Her heeled nude booties, layered necklaces and bangles added another level of depth and unexpected flair to her look. After her awesome feminine skirt, the thing that stuck out to me was its contrast with her edgy spiked Alex and Ani bangle. Adding an edgy flair, to an otherwise preppy look, is the perfect fashion risk to take for an occasion such as date night.

One Simple Change: No big dates this weekend? Not to worry. This look can easily be transformed into weekend wear for a more casual outing. Lately I’m loving the look of denim on denim (when it’s done correctly). Opt for a nice pair of dark wash jeans, instead of a funky skirt, and you’re good to go.
