WHAT TO WEAR: Date Night

Date night attire tends to be a subject of uncertainty for many guys. Although depending on the location and activities involved, most dates require guys to dress a bit snazzier than a basic T-shirt, athletic shorts and sneakers. In addition, girls often like to pull out all the stops when they go out, so they will most likely be wearing dresses, heels, jewelry, etc. Since the date will be dressed to the nines, it’s extremely important that guys are dressed to impress as well.

This Fashionisto’s outfit is a great example of appropriate date night attire as he prepares to go out to dinner with his girlfriend. His button-down shirt is dressier than a T-shirt, but definitely not over the top. The light green color makes it perfect for summertime, too. His shorts are a great alternative to athletic or cargo shorts, and the gray color complements the button-down’s green really nicely. In addition to the basics, a date night outfit is never complete without the right accessories.

The fact that this Fashionisto tucked in his shirt and added a black belt pulls the whole look together and makes him look very polished. His black leather watch also adds an extra element of class to his ensemble. Lastly, his shoes are the perfect substitution for everyday sneakers. The laces make the shoes relatively casual, but the black and brown leather makes them more dressy and appropriate for a night out. This Fashionisto really nailed his date night style, and guys should definitely use his look as inspiration in order to impress their dates the next time they go out.

One Simple Change: Have a busy afternoon before your date? This outfit can easily be turned into weekend wear. Untucking the shirt will create a more casual look, which is perfect for spending the day out and about. Also, swap out the shoes for something a little more casual, such as sandals, Sperry Top-Siders, etc. Being able to transition your daytime outfit to your nighttime one will make your busy day a lot more manageable, and you’ll be able to focus on what is most important—your date!
