WHAT TO WEAR: Cold Weather

Regardless of the fact that it doesn’t snow, winter in Houston can get rough. As the snowstorms hit the Midwest regions, the 30 degree windchill and frost take over most of Texas. On this brisk day, I met and caught up with this Fashionista who was ready to take on the cold. She was able to pull off this chic ensemble while staying warm for her daily commute to work.

This simple outfit was paired with a thick, fashionable peacoat. While still looking stylish, the polyester lining of the coat kept her warm without her feeling overwhelmed. Pairing the dark coat with a light, colorful scarf kept the outfit casual with a subtle hint of sophistication. This Fashionista ties the whole outfit together with her light tan boots. Matching her shoes with her MICHAEL Michael Kors purse brought together a fully rounded look. Since Texans don’t really need gloves (yet), this Fashionista went a step further and enhanced her look by accessorizing with a variety of rings.

The month of January can be hard to deal with. When starting the new semester, try and stay warm with coats, scarves and boots. The great part is that there are so many ways to incorporate these accessories into your personal style. For my music lovers I recommend cozy earmuffs to keep your ears warm while actually enhancing the sound from your headphones.

One Simple Change: Switching out the peacoat for a blazer and dressing up this outfit with some fashionable heels will make it perfect to wear to a presentation.
