WHAT TO WEAR: Class

April 1st, 2015 at 2:00am

It is officially spring! I know it doesn’t feel much like it, especially here in Chicago, but that only means one thing. It’s time for a wardrobe revamp, i.e. spring cleaning. As we clear out and pack up our favorite winter pieces, it’s time to focus only on the essentials: the clothes, accessories and beauty trends that will make a smooth transition into spring. Trimming down will certainly simplify your daily routine. Go-to items like a great pair of denim, a versatile coat, a crisp top, a cool pair of sunglasses and the right bag will keep your wardrobe chic and casual.

I caught up with this rad Fashionista on her way to class rocking this ultra cool look one nippy afternoon. Her khaki fur hood coat and crisp white jeans were the perfect combo of neutral colors. Retro round framed sunglasses and black booties completed the look. For a bit of drama, she added everyone’s favorite trend, knee slits, in her jeans.

Follow this essential look by keeping it simple and chic on chilly spring days. Grab your favorite denim, a cute a pair of ankle booties, a great all purpose jacket, a statement accessory and you’re good to go!

One Simple Change: To take this day look to a chic night look, ditch the coat and add a light cardigan with a cropped button-down and certainly keep the white hot denim. Switch out your boots for bootie heels and accessorize with lots of bangles and a statement necklace.
