WHAT TO WEAR: Class

March 24th, 2015 at 2:00am

With the sun being a more frequent visitor these days and everyone shedding their thick coats and winter layers it seems campus is almost experiencing culture shock. Conversations consisting of “I have no idea what to wear with this weather!” seem to be very common. Throwing on sweats and layering every button-down and cardigan you own is no longer fitting. However, this Fashionista has no reservations about digging into her spring wardrobe and she even scores extra points for styling it appropriately.

When going to class, you want to be comfortable. Something like a dress or a romper, as she is wearing, are quick and easy to throw on, are more comfortable than something like jean shorts and also more fashion-forward. Getting a printed or patterned romper adds more to the elements of an outfit and more colors for you to work with in your wardrobe. To take the chill off of the romper she puts on a bulky, quarter-sleeve mustard cardigan to add a pop of color that complements the royal blue and red orange colors of the romper. If you have an early or late evening class when the temperature drops a little more take another step as she did and throw a thin, quilted jacket over top. Getting a jacket in a color such as army green takes the winter favorite parka and translates it into a spring look.

To tie together this Fashionista’s casual look we come to my personal favorite element of her outfit, her shoes. The platform metallic sandal is a huge trend this spring and summer and she pulls it into her outfit well with the yellow cardigan and also with her accessories. The long gold chain necklace and gold and silver Alex and Ani bangles help bring in the different metallic colors of the sandal to her outfit. Mixing and matching gold, silver, copper or any metallic bangles and with necklaces is a great thing to think about when shopping for accessories or clothing as well.

One Simple Change: Headed to a girl’s night out after a long day of classes? All you have to do is throw on a stylish denim jacket or blazer and your favorite pair of heeled booties to transform your look.
