WHAT TO WEAR: Class

You slowly begin to realize that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Warm weather is finally approaching! That means that we don’t have to be wearing tons of the same fluffy jackets, scarves and other layers. Finally you start to integrate some lighter clothes into your wardrobe. What better way to spread the news and celebrate warmer weather than in the classroom? That is where you can pick up the latest trends about what is happening out there in the fashion world and on campus. My general rules of what to wear to class are that you need to be comfortable (of course), professional looking when you have to for tests or a big presentation and show off your personality through your outfit. Now that doesn’t mean you have to dress to impress in heels and a pencil skirt, but you can wear a nice top with a pair of leggings or jeans on occasion.

This Fashionista is a dedicated student who also reminded all of us stripes are a year-round trend. I asked her what colors are most prominent in her closet, and she said that she was all about black and gray, as well as layers. She paired her striped button-up blouse with a cotton vest, which definitely helps on those cold and windy days at school and looks more put together. Her riding boots were definitely a statement as she continued integrating lines and her color scheme with straps for days. She finished her outfit with a lightweight gray cardigan and black nail polish. At the end of the day, Fashionistas/os want to wear something that will show how they feel or what their personalities are. This Fashionista definitely showed her campus how she wanted to be seen as a great student who can also be casual and approachable by her peers and profs.

One Simple Change: If you’ve finished class and made plans with friends, you can change from jeans to a nice pair of black shorts or a skirt for a girl’s night out.
