WHAT TO WEAR: Class

How many times have I woken up for class on time this semester? Probably once, and that’s being generous. I’m sorry, but it’s just the repercussions of having a king sized cloud of a bed. So, of course, I’m constantly looking for fashion inspiration from fellow classmates and easy outfit ideas that I can throw on in a time crunch. This Fashionista’s outfit is perfect if you’re running late for class but still want to look presentable. It’s casual and effortless, yet put together at the same time. The best thing about it is that it’s a great combination of pieces that almost everyone can find in their closets: jeans, a flannel, boots and a hat.

I love this look because it’s all about layers. Just like every other girl, I also love flannels, beanies and parkas. To recreate this look, start off by layering a basic black T-shirt underneath a flannel shirt. Flannels make great layering pieces because they’re so warm. I like to get mine from the men’s department rather than the women’s because they’re less fitted and more comfortable. They’re also really easy to find at thrift stores for low prices, too. For additional protection against the cold winter weather, throw on a parka or military style jacket. Parkas are the perfect coat because they’re both practical and trendy. Lastly, complete the look with a pair of dark skinny jeans, combat boots and a beanie. Her red beanie was a fun pop of color against the other neutral colored pieces of her outfit. Beanies are awesome because they’re easy to throw on if you’re having a bad hair day, but they also keep your ears warm too.

One Simple Change: Switch out the denim jeans for leggings and the combat boots for a pair of Converse and you’re ready for a long but comfy night of studying at the library.
