WHAT TO WEAR: Class

February 18th, 2015 at 2:00am

As the semester begins to pick up and the harsh winter weather becomes normal, Fashionistas are breaking through with remarkable style! Who says practicality and style can’t go hand in hand? Whoever you are this Fashionista is here to prove you wrong!

On this bitter cold day this Fashionista paired an amazing neutral bohemian dress with an oversized black cardigan. Taking part in the winter layering trend she added her thigh length army green parka, which is completely on trend for this season! She kept the accessories black with pops of detail including her black TOMS wedge booties, black cutout tights, and for warmth a fashionable headband with added beaded embellishment. Her Michael Kors drawstring hobo bag is perfect for carrying all of her necessities around campus and to class! I could not help myself from stopping this Fashionista after seeing how neutral yet fashionable her outfit was.

Dressing down and layering day dresses is a huge trend emerging on the Kent State campus this semester and I hope it here to stay! There is just something about this outfit that looks fashion-forward and trend while remaining neutral and casual. This is my honesty favorite trend at the moment and I am excited to see how you make this look your own!  Remember, you can dress practical while still looking stylish!

One Simple Change: To make this look more nighttime ready, switch out the neutral dress with a sleek black leather skirt and an embellished top. Don’t forget about beauty! Add a deep red lip and curl your hair after removing the headband.

Hi everyone! I'm Melanie Witzberger from Kent State University, but you can call me Mel. I am in my third year of college, however I'm graduating this August and am so excited about it! I am currently studying Fashion Merchandising with a minor in Marketing. I can not imagine studying anything other than Fashion, I absolutely love everything about it! This is my first semester as a Style Guru and I can not wait to see what this semester holds. The future is bright ( I hope literally), as I hope to move to California sometime after graduation. I would love to be a Stylist, Visual Merchandiser, or Buyer in the future. I also have a deep passion for all things dealing with social media and would love have a career that involves working with it!
