WHAT TO WEAR: Class

After the temporary nostalgia of fresh highlighters, pastel Post-it Notes and sparkly folders wears off, the realization of trading in favorite reads (or Netflix series) for textbooks settles in, leaving behind the cold, hard truth that the spring semester is in full swing. In addition to the possible 8 a.m. class or back-to-back classes, many Fashionistas/os will likely experience the feeling of wanting to roll out of bed and trot to class in their coziest clothing. For most, this consists of an oversized T-shirt and leggings (guilty as charged). Despite the obvious comfort, some ensembles are best kept for lazy Sundays. Do not fret! Keeping cozy for a full day at school can be effortless and stylish.

On my daily commute to class, I caught sight of this refined Fashionista sporting the perfect class day ensemble. Wearing a subtle printed skater skirt (flattering to most, if not all silhouettes) over a pair of sheer black tights and a solid pair of riding boots. The key to transitioning comfort is opting for more monochromatic hues that will carry you through most, if not all semester. Follow suit after this Fashionista and invest in a solid trench. Just as warm as your favorite sweater, yet way more appealing to the eye, a trench can aid in putting any look together, oversized T-shirt or not. To maintain this refined look, stray away from vibrant tones and statement accents. Complete the look by adding an extra something like an infinity scarf or a layered necklace. Next time you find yourself angrily rolling out of bed, emulate this Fashionista whose look just might take you back to the nostalgia of picking color-coordinating supplies.

One Simple Change: Transition this look from day to night. Lose the boots and slip into your favorite pair of heels, and armed with the perfect red lip, this ensemble is perfect for a weekday girl’s night out or date night.
