WHAT TO WEAR: Class

April 21st, 2016 at 2:00am

We all know spring weather in New Jersey can be unpredictable. It’s frustrating looking at the Weather app, and finding it says it’s going to be 48 degrees on Wednesday, 75 degrees on Thursday and 50 degrees on Friday. However when that perfect day comes, Fashionistas and Fashionistos alike relish the opportunity to dress to the nines.

On this particularly perfect day, I spotted this Fashionista on her way to class in a casual but super cute outfit. She rocked the denim-on-denim trend, which was the focus of Simon Miller’s fall 2016 show. Plain denim acts as a canvas for outfits and the rest is up to the wearer. This Fashionista paired her black jeans with a white blouse, which is an easy choice since white and black match virtually everything.

To top off her outfit, this Fashionista utilized the denim-on denim-trend and followed the number one rule of the trend: never wear the same shade of denim on the top and bottom. Her light denim jacket complemented the blouse and jeans and added a pop of color. To add some height and an edgy feel to the look, this Fashionista rocked a pair of chunky heeled Chelsea boots, which should definitely be a style staple in every girl’s closet. Of course, always top off your look with rings, bracelets and any kind of bling you can find.

One Simple Change: If heeled shoes aren’t for you, opt for lace-up flats! Lace adds a cute detail that’s not too over the top. Flats are ideal for a quick run to the store, or walking from the train station to the office (hello, NYC interns!).
