I can never understand people who go to class in sweats, only to discover that outside of the classroom they are actually pretty stylish. I mean, whatever happened to commitment? When it comes to dress, I am all or none, and this smooth operator of a Fashionisto clearly resonates on that same frequency.
The key to success of this look is layering. The bright yellow racing jersey works perfectly under this black Chevrolet T-shirt. Together they forge a primary color palette—one of my aesthetic obsessions, and the thing that first drew me to this look. But it’s really the accessories that make everything complete. The three gold religious pendant chains and the mini camouflage print cross-body bag worn at the front are both choices that only a true Fashionisto would make. Combined with the race-themed wear, these elements come together to create a certain perfection. Added stylistic elements like the cuffing of the trousers and the up folded brim of the knitted cap help to enforce the intentional fun feel of this look.
To me, this look is perfect for class because it says, “I may be at school, but I still care.” Not too much, not too little but just the right amount. I so appreciate the meticulous thought and attention to detail. It shows, and that is what caused my desire to capture this Fashionisto on camera.
One Simple Change: This look is honestly perfect the way it is, but spring days do tend to cool down. Adding a vintage leather jacket would be ideal for taking this look on a spontaneous night out.
