WHAT TO WEAR: Class

March 15th, 2016 at 2:06am

Well, it’s officially that time of year where my schoolwork seems less important than scrolling through endless runway shows, scouring Instagram for the best street style looks and (unsuccessfully) brainstorming ways to make enough money to buy my favorite designer pieces; that’s right: it’s fashion month.

As much as I love discovering upcoming trends and getting inspiration for my own looks, it can be pretty difficult to keep track of and to afford the newest styles. I’m sure many other Fashionistas/os can relate; sometimes you’re just dying to get in on that new trend or feel you must have that amazing bag you saw on the runway. Recently I’ve decided that the best way to avoid wasting money on fleeting trends is to invest in classic black and white pieces. This combo will never go out of style and sticking to neutrals makes getting dressed quick and simple.

This Fashionisto provides a perfect example of an effortless look that still appears very put together thanks to the simple colors and great layering. This outfit is ideal for mornings when you snooze your alarm a few too many times (it happens to the best of us) or just have too much going on to think about your clothes.

Fitted black jeans offer a great starting point for your outfit because they can be worn with a wide variety of tops, shoes and accessories. This Fashionisto threw on a black and white graphic sweatshirt that when combined with his white Nike sneakers, gives the outfit a cool, sporty feel. His simple black jacket is an ideal layering piece for the unpredictable New Orleans weather and will never go out of style.

To keep his outfit cool and casual, this Fashionisto accessorized with simple Ray Bans and a gold ring. He also added a backwards hat that contributed further to his athletic vibe.

One Simple Change: By swapping your denim with black jogger pants and taking off the jacket, this look can bring you from class straight to the gym. With this simple change you can eliminate an excuse for skipping the gym and you’ll be the most stylish one there.
