WHAT TO WEAR: Class

One thing that is a commonality between college students is the fact that every single one has to go to class. When the temperatures drop, many students want to lean towards thick sweatpants and bulky coats. Even though it keeps you warm, it is far from fashionable. There are the few people who won’t let a little chilly air prevent them from looking put together. They embrace the winter for the opportunity to wear layers. Layers are a perfect way to stay warm outside, and to take off when a professor wants to jack the heat up to 85 degrees. Thus, you are comfortable no matter where you are.

This Fashionisto has the right idea. Every element of his look is meant for warmth. He started off the outfit by pulling out his preppy plaid flannel to not only keep warm, but bring some out some color as well. Flannels are huge this season not only for guys, but for girls too! While they can be cozy on their own, a great Patagonia vest was thrown over the flannel to give him that extra warmth during this particularly cold day. His look also includes the oh-so-trendy chukka boots. These shoes are great for casual or dressier looks. This Fashionisto’s suede pair is in a versatile gray that can be put with many different colors and outfits. To finish off the ensemble, he added some cuffed khaki corduroys that are not only on trend, but comfortable!

One Simple Change:  As the temperatures start to rise, this look can be adapted for the spring just by rolling up the sleeves and changing the corduroys to chinos! It will keep you warm enough for the occasional breeze, but cool enough for the warmer air.
