WHAT TO WEAR: Chic Comfort

It’s impossible not to want to throw on sweats when you know you have a long day of classes ahead of you. But at the same time, you know you feel better about yourself when you’re wearing an outfit that looks good and represents you. On most college campuses it’s so easy to get away with wearing sweats to class, especially if your campus is in a secluded area away from the public. Now that I’ve been in Florence for a few weeks, and I’ve realized how easy it is to dress up my typical go-to outfits for class.

If you go to school in a city or if you’re also studying abroad like me, you already know that you can’t get away with wearing your pajamas out in the daylight, and you’ve probably already come up with some fashionable alternatives to wear to class. It’s important to understand how to create presentable yet comfortable outfits for everyday life because none of us will be living on a college campus forever (waah). You’ll also start to realize how much better you feel throughout the day when you’re wearing an outfit that you’re proud of. You might notice that you’re more confident, outgoing, or in an overall better mood.

This Fashionista’s outfit is a great example of what to wear to class. She’s wearing chic, trendy pieces that are comfortable to walk around in all day. Loose boyfriend jeans are a popular trend right now, and they’re definitely more comfortable than a pair of tight skinnies. This Fashionista paired hers with a vintage graphic T-shirt and oversize cardigan.

She finished the look with a pair of high-top Converse and round sunglasses to pull everything together. Adding some simple accessories takes barely any effort and can really amp up your look. This outfit is really easy to recreate; I know every college student owns a pair of beat up jeans and a graphic T-shirt. So, next time you’re getting ready for class, try pairing your favorite T-shirt with distressed jeans and a pair of funky sneakers and see how you feel!
