WHAT TO WEAR: Casual Street

Even though the groundhog has predicted more winter this year, it did not stop Chicago’s weather from reaching a high of 45 degrees this past weekend. Although the notorious Windy City continued to bustle with strong winds, it was a perfect time to bring out lighter jackets in place of our heavy winter coats.

With no snow in sight, this Fashionisto tossed his winter coat aside, pulling out some of the season’s most popular men’s clothing pieces. As of recently, streetwear, athleisure, and casual pieces have been trending in men’s fashion, and this has been all the rage in the city of Chicago. Walking downtown, or on public transportation, you see a large number of guys in dad hats, sports shoes, and the latest trendy clothing brands. With the fast-paced activity that encapsulates the city each day, you are bound to see one of these trends on someone walking down the street, on the train, or in a restaurant.

All of these trends make up the city’s vibrant street style, and this Fashionisto channeled just that in his ensemble. Pairing a navy blue bomber jacket along with a casual white T-shirt, this Fashionisto went for a more casual-comfy look. With that, he wore a pair of simple black denim jeans, and his favorite pair of sneakers to tie in his black and white outfit, allowing for the navy bomber to be a subtle pop of color. Accessorizing with a rose gold watch and silver chain necklace, this Fashionisto mixed metals to go along with his urban style outfit, perfect for exploring the city, or going to class.

The promising weather recently has allowed this Fashionisto, and many others, to bring out some of our favorite warmer weather clothing, channeling the more industrial, street vibes that many parts of Chicago exude. I hope this inspires you to dress to your inner street style, while also surviving the winter, regardless of where you are!
