WHAT TO WEAR: Brunch

March 28th, 2016 at 2:10am

You know you are a college student when food and having two more minutes of sleep before your alarm goes off are the things that you are always looking forward to. If you are like me, the days that I don’t have class I enjoy waking up late, hanging out with my friends and going out to eat. By the time I wake up though it is usually around eleven, too late for breakfast and too soon for lunch. Thankfully a very smart person knew that college students would be having this struggle and invented the best time for a meal: brunch.

Just like it’s hard to decide whether to get pancakes or muffins during brunch, it is also tough to decide what to wear. Even after watching Breakfast at Tiffany’s many of us still have a hard time finding the right look for this occasion. Thankfully I found this Fashionista who was effortlessly dressed in a classy yet laid back outfit perfect for brunch.

This Fashionista’s ensemble consists of the three main rules for a brunch outfit: classy, chic and comfortable. You have to remember that you are going out for brunch not to prom or a baseball game so you can’t be too fancy or too casual. Your outfit has to fall right in between. Most importantly, wear something that you feel comfortable in.

For her look, this Fashionista is wearing a white T-shirt and adds a fancy touch to her outfit by wearing a gray wool coat over it. She is also wearing denim skinny jeans and by cuffing them, she is able to give a casual and flattering look to her outfit, and show off her black ankle boots. To add the extra “brunch touch” to her attire she selects a silver necklace to complete her ensemble. Jewelry is a must-have for brunch. Without it, it would be like going to IHOP and not ordering pancakes; that’s a no-no.

Brunch is like the fashion quiz question that is randomly thrown there to stump you; don’t let it get to you, have fun with your outfit and keep it classy and enjoyable!

One Simple Change: Have to head to a formal dinner later that day? No need to go into the hassle of finding a completely different look, simply trade your jeans and T-shirt for a dress and you’ll be golden.
