WHAT TO WEAR: Back to the Basics

As college students, we cannot pretend that we do not get lazy sometimes. Those nine o’clock economic classes will make any Fashionista want to ditch their trendy fits. However, you can still look nice and well dressed sporting simple wardrobe basics. I found this Fashionista making a statement with her cute outfit in the wee hours of the morning. Her outfit for her very early days always consists of easy-to-wear pieces, which I am certain every Fashionista has in their wardrobe!

The building blocks of my Fashionista’s outfit are a pair of classic blue jeans and a tan cotton tank top. The right pieces are totally up to you , however, and can work with whatever your style of dress is (from boohoo to sporty). You can rock anything, from a classic white button-up and distressed boyfriend jeans to even a slouchy basic white tee and black leggings. The pieces that are most important and give the notion that you actually tried are her leather jacket, booties and book bag. The black leather jacket has been a staple in wardrobes for ages now, and simply will never go out of style. You can pair a leather jacket with just about any outfit to add the stylish edge you desire. My Fashionista found her leather jacket for a steal of a price at Forever 21. Or, you can choose to invest in a true leather jacket if you plan on it being a constant staple in your wardrobe and life. Heeled booties are a great compromise between flats and stiletto heels, and upgrades any outfit from basic to chic. Even further, details like silver hardware or embroidery allows you to stand out even more. The last stand out piece in her look is her quilted black leather book bag. There is no need to ruin an outfit with an oversized colorful elementary school book bag, and there is also no need to carry around an armful of text books. The leather book bag is chic and convenient and needed by every Fashionista.

Take it from me and this Fashionista: early mornings do not always have to equal lackluster outfits. Go back to basics and be a stand out on your campus!
