The alarm goes off. You groan and throw a tiny fit, but proceed to roll out of bed anyway. Realizing the early hour you have avoided the last several weeks is your new nemesis, you decide to make some breakfast (probably the most honest meal you will eat for the next week). Then, you stand angrily in front of your closet as if you expect the right clothes to dress you. Oh yeah, it’s back to school: second semester edition.
Luckily for this Fashionista, the dreaded first day back blues did not phase her outfit selection. With a few simple pieces she pulled together an outstanding ensemble that is drool-worthy in my opinion. Her modest blouse and grid printed skirt create the perfect color-block backdrop to her statement piece—her cotton candy pink coat. She certainly made a smart choice by keeping her accessories black to keep all eyes on her coat. Can somebody get this student a gold star already?
For some of us, getting ready for school or finding the A plus look for the first day is a chore. I can certainly tell you procrastination is not your friend, and neither is overthinking. The secret to making an outfit look well thought out without having to put in the extra effort is by sticking to the basics. This Fashionista is the textbook example of how back to school style can be painless and oh, so extra credit worthy.
One Simple Change: If your school day takes you into the evening hours, ditch the flats and stockings for a pair of heels and you’re ready to take on a night out with the girls!
