WHAT TO WEAR: Back To School

February 17th, 2016 at 2:00am

The New Year and a new semester are two things that should always be paired with a new wardrobe. For the first week back to school you want to make sure you are dressing to impress, but never overdoing it. The new semester is the perfect time to show off and try new trends that you weren’t yet rockin’ last semester.

One trend that isn’t going anywhere moving into 2016 is the masculine long coats and jackets. A masculine coat paired with more feminine pieces creates a very dynamic outfit. This Fashionista did that very well by wear a tight long sleeve black cropped turtle neck; showing the perfect amount of skin. And for a pop of color she wore a pair of army green tightly fitted drawstring pants. Similar pants like these are a perfect addition to any wardrobe they tend to be very comfortable for how dressy they appear to be which is never a bad thing when heading to class.

To accessorize, this Fashionista has done it very minimally. For jewelry she wore a simple small gold chain that is just the perfect amount of bling to be worn over a turtleneck sweater, avoiding drawing too much attention to one area.

She found the perfect shoes to complete this outfit. Low-top, chunky heeled boots are so great for the first week back to school and all semester long, they are very edgy while also being effortless. The small zipper detail on the side of each boot is also a very nice touch of detail.

Lastly kick off the school year in style by dressing up any outfit with an oversized scarf. Not only is it totally warm enough for any weather its also extremely trendy. They can be worn in a variety of ways to fit your personal style; this Fashionista has chosen to style her oversized tartan scarf in more of shawl manner but wrapping or knotting is also very chic.

One Simple Change: You can transform this look from the perfect back to school outfit into something to wear on date night by ditching the pants and pairing the sweater and scarf combination with your favorite skirt.
