It’s that time of the year again…back to school! While most students are dreading the inevitable return to school, us Fashionistas are carefully preparing our outfits for the first day. Even back in high school, I planned my outfits in advance for the whole first week and I’m sure I am not alone!
It can be hard to efficiently mix the key components of comfort and style. It’s especially hard when we are still attempting to switch off the “summer mode” button in our brains. Sweatpants and hoodies may seem like the easiest option when you’re slamming the snooze button in the morning, but it’s probably not the right choice. In college, it’s important to be presentable at all times. We are devoting our time and studies to working in the career field of our choice. On campus, you’ll never know who you will run into! You may come across future bosses, influential people in the industry and even possible love connections.
This particular outfit is a wonderful example of mixing personal style with comfort. Striped T-shirts are without a doubt, a huge closet staple for any season. She chose to pair the casual striped T-shirt with a long-sleeved army jacket that gives an added flair of personality. The jacket is also a very convertible piece that can be easily tied around her waist if she gets too warm. Because her skinny jeans are a dark wash, they create an overall more professional look. Instead of heavy boots, she chose simple black slip-ons that are sure to keep her comfortable while walking to and from classes. She also added a Forever 21 silver charmed necklace and a metallic embossed clutch, both of which are huge factors in creating the entire polished look. Embossed bags are quickly climbing up as one of the most sought after accessories! This fun clutch is ideal for keeping her keys, phone, student ID and small school supplies on hand at all times.
Whether or not you plan your outfits ahead of time, make sure to take the extra five minutes in the morning to try and look your best. I promise, it will make a positive difference in your overall daily mood and experiences!
