WHAT TO WEAR: Back To School

With only a few more weeks of summer break, it’s important to start thinking about the upcoming fall semester. Although thinking about classes, textbooks and even exams may be a drag, shopping for the new semester usually isn’t. Alas, it’s time to put away your tank tops and shorts and start looking for something a bit warm for the fall.

Since the fall semester commencement tends to be around the last week of August to the first week of September, the first few weeks or even first month of school tends to still be very hot. Thus, the air conditioned classrooms tend to be cool or borderline freezing compared to the outdoors. That is why this Fashionista has the perfect outfit for heading out of the summer sun and heading indoors to hit the books.

She styled a plain black T-shirt with a pair of distressed jeans and finished the look with a pair of black boots. With the peek-a-boo cutouts on the back, the black shirt has just the right amount of detail that reveals some of her back, which isn’t inappropriate or over-the-top, but rather stylish and flirty. A pair of distressed jeans are a must-have item for any Fashionista for this upcoming season. They not only keep your legs warm under the AC, but they also add a punk and bold vibe to your overall look. The key to choosing your distressed jeans is to make sure that the rips are at a minimum and don’t reveal your entire leg, and that they are bits and pieces here and there.

The black boots are another essential item for this new semester. They give you a rough-tough look while keeping your feet warm and dry. I personally love how they not only match with a pair of jeans, but they also pair perfectly with skirts and dresses.

Last but not least, you can’t go to school without a backpack. This Fashionista loves her leather, tribal patterned backpack. It is not only stylish, but is able to hold several textbooks and a laptop with maximum comfort (the shoulder straps are cushioned and evenly distributes the weight). Since it is black, it is also easy to match with any color or style.

One Simple Change: For an outdoor concert, switch a pair of distressed jeans to a skater skirt. This change will make your look a bit more girly and comfortable for a breezy cute look in an instant during the pumped up event.
