WHAT TO WEAR: Band T-shirts in 80 Degrees

VCU’s campus is getting lots of summer vibes these days! We are finally getting some warm and sunny weather, which means it’s time to start pulling out the denim cutoffs and tank tops! This also means: it’s music festival season.

This Fashionista celebrated the season with a Lynyrd Skynyrd band T-shirt and white distressed cutoff shorts. This is a fun twist on the T-shirt and shorts look we see so often during the summer months. She tied the tank up in a fun knot to give it just a little more flare.

Her accessories stayed in the neutral tones of her light gray tank and white shorts. She wore a taupe felt, floppy hat which had a black band around the crown. She also added an intricate silver Lucky Brand bracelet which I loved! The brand is known for its super bohemian inspired pieces and this gem was the perfect accent to her festival-ready look.

She also tucked a pair of blue-tinted, round-shaped sunglasses into her tank. This look has been trending for the past couple of seasons now and personally, I’m obsessed with it. This ’70s influence is a perfect way to flashback to the “hippie movement” of that era. I usually throw my pair on when I’m looking to add a laid-back look to any of my outfits.

Lastly, this Fashionista slid on her Jeffrey Campbell “Hunt the Plains” boots, which are a staple piece in my closet (I saved up for weeks to finally call a pair of these babies mine)! This western-styled boot has a lower heel and playfully sculpted V-cut sides.

If there is anything I’m excited about this summer, it has to be that concert season is in full swing. So pull out your cutoff shorts and your best warm weather accessories, Fashionistas! I can’t wait to share some of my favorite looks this summer, as I will be returning as a Style Guru yet again! Happy summer travels and festival season, everyone.
