This Boot Style Is Back—And Better Than Ever

Created with UGG

This year, fashion has been all about nostalgia. From bohemian to grunge, these trends are about more than just looking current; they are almost always tied to a memory. That’s why our moms always feel the need to alert us when a trend they used to wear makes a comeback. (We got it, mom. You were/are super cool.)

It seems that our moms have already passed this habit onto us. The season of nostalgic dressing is culminating with the revival of UGG boots. And now that they’re back, we can’t stop reminiscing on our sheepskin-covered memories and making new ones as well.

We challenged our Style Gurus to add their own narrative to the time capsule. UGG certainly took our Style Gurus to new adventures—check them out below.

A Day in UGG Boots

6:00am — Wake up call. I rolled out of bed, threw on gym clothes and UGG boots and headed to my morning yoga class.

8:00am — Back from yoga class. Now, to get ready for the day. I have a busy day ahead so the goal is to feel comfortable and look cute for the entire day. I go with a grey turtleneck, my favorite pair of black jeans and these classic brown boots.

9:00am – 12:00pm — Class time and the obvious stop by Starbucks to avoid crashing.

12:00pm – 5:00pm — I have so many errands to run. I’ve been planning a fashion show for my student organization all semester and it’s coming up! I head out to pick up some of the outfits and help our models with fittings — it’s so much fun to use my love of fashion for a good cause.

5:00pm – 8:00pm — It’s one of my best friend’s 21st birthday today, so my friends and I head to dinner to celebrate. There are a ton of cool murals in the area, so while we’re waiting, we take some cute photos for our Instagram arsenal. After dinner, we grabbed ice cream at our favorite, Jeni’s, before heading back home.

8:00am — My alarm sounds. I know I have a fun day ahead, but will be on my feet all day. I paired my mini boots with a black turtleneck, army jacket and jeans.

9:15am — Oh my god, it’s freezing.

10:00am –  2:15pm —In class. Daydreaming.

2:30pm – 4:00pm — I’m headed to grab lunch and take a bit of a hike to go to one of my favorite spots uptown. It’s hard to find good spots to walk in Manhattan, especially where I live in the Financial District, so I hop on the subway and take advantage of the restaurant’s proximity to Central Park. It’s one of my favorite spots in New York, particularly during the holiday season. Like I said, it’s freezing, but my toes are snug and I’m just taking in the beauty of it all.

5:30pm — I’m nestled in at home with a cup of hot tea and my computer. To be honest, I’m still wearing my UGG boots because I’m permanently chilled and need them to work double duty as slippers. Will I sleep in these? It’s probable.

9:00am — Good morning! I need coffee.

9:30am — I turn on some Kanye to bring up my energy for the day. I love planning my outfit to music — today’s look needs to be stylish, but flexible.

10:45am — Trekking through the tundra to class. Where did fall go?

11:00am – 3:00pm — Class (scrolling through my Instagram feed)

3:00pm – 4:00pm — Finally get to see my friends! We’re catching up on the latest on social media and complaining about assignments over coffee. Bless these girls for giving me the energy for my next class.

7:00pm — Free from the classroom & headed back to my apartment for some R&R

7:30pm — Slipped off my UGG boots for a hot shower and a cleansing mask. There’s nothing better than me time before this crazy day repeats tomorrow.

9:00am — The first thing I do in the morning is check my emails and my social media accounts. Headed to have some breakfast — granola, green tea and fresh fruit, before heading to my school gym for a workout.

11:00am — What to wear? My go-to look is a nice sweater, leggings or jeans and my UGG boots and that’s what I’m sticking with today.

12:00pm — Off to a day of class. I try to set a goal going into the day and really want to keep today creative. Ideating is definitely my focus.

5:00pm — Dedicating my evening to doing some course readings and catching up on fashion news pieces. I’m also taking this time to brainstorm ideas for upcoming posts on my blog.

8:00pm — I love taking the time to control my health and make dinner. I put together a Greek salad with chicken and baked potatoes.

11:00pm — Facetiming my friend to watch our favorite show together and then I’m off to bed!

9:00am — Starting my morning routine as usual with two cups of coffee and oatmeal. Catching up on the Office Hours podcast to give me some inspiration for the day.

11:30am — I’m trying to get out and explore the city today. I pop in and out of stores to get some future outfit inspiration and then pop into a bookstore for some meditative recluse.

2:00pm — There’s a cute wall outside the bookshop, so naturally an Instagram photoshoot must occur.

4:00pm — I head to a small café to edit my photos and squeeze in some homework.

7:00pmI normally cook my own meals every day, but tonight I’m in the mood to go out! Headed to a casual dinner date with my boyfriend at our favorite pizza place. I traded in my leggings and layered a slip dress over a plain white T-shirt. I kept the cardigan and UGG boots on to keep it casual. No need to throw on heels for pizza!

10:00pm — The pizza was amazing. That’s all. Goodnight!
