STYLE GURU STYLE: You’re Timeless To Me

My wardrobe hardly consists of any color and when it does, it’s subtle or faded. Or more than likely just forest green. Though it may be lacking in color, it can be fierce in interesting cuts and shapes; more often than not, it’s a practice in showing off my tattoos, also known as my very best and very permanent accessories.

Taking inspiration from alice + olivia’s resort 2016 collection and their envisioned “bohemian intellectual,” I produced my own look with a high-waisted green pant (my version of wearing colors) and a crop top that makes me feel like I forever belong on a sailboat.

Bringing color into a neutral wardrobe often correlates with really trendy pieces, whereas I prefer to wear a classic piece, oftentimes with a little something extra going on. As in this case, my top has criss-crossed rope to hold it all together. Topped off with the most delectable burgundy lipstick from the local drug store, this look is ready to take on work or a day on the water.

The best part of rocking a timeless wardrobe is almost the necessity it facilitates to accessorize like a madman. With a current collection of over 100 rings, I’d say jewelry is the make or break of most outfits (but let’s be real, the more jewels, the better). With this look, I’ve added on some green-tinted aviators for a bit more color, a statement ring from the goth hippie diva Gypsy Warrior brand and a quartz necklace my friend made.

Black and white will never go out of style, but it’s always good to add some color whether it be in the hue of your pants or the shade of your lipstick.

Get My Look: 1. White crop top with a twist. 2. High-waisted pants of awesomeness and comfort. 3. Burgundy lipstick.
