Certain occasions in the life of a CollegeFashionista require that extra touch of inspiration and originality when picking out an outfit. The final summer event sponsored by Henri Bendel was certainly one of them. As I did my research I realized that a key piece from the brand that’s particularly popular among college girls is of course the backpack. This is a very chic and practical item that allows us busy CollegeFashionistas to carry our most precious and necessary possessions, like our phone and makeup bag and of course our books. Brains over everything after all right?
So this time I wanted to make the backpack the central piece of my outfit. Being that I’m on a budget (as I’m sure most college girls are) I went for a more affordable option with my Aldo women’s white Juliaa backpack. I wanted to incorporate simplicity and comfort and I got some inspiration from the 1205 Spring 2016 Ready-To-Wear runway. Here we see skirts, jackets and other elegant pieces being combined with a pair of sneakers. This combination of comfort and glam has been a popular one as of recently. In my case I went for my favorite pair of Nike women’s black running shoes.
Last but not least I threw on a LBD (Little Black Dress). This H&M Sleeveless Jersey Dress is also perfect to pair up with your favorite heels for a day-to-night look. Add a Jean jacket in case it gets a little chilly and you’re ready to go!
I wanted to make a little parenthesis here to let all my readers know that although this is my last summer article I will be coming back with more for the fall 2016 semester. If I’ve taken something out of this #RAD experience so far is to step out of your comfort zone and try on combinations you never thought of before. I’ll continue to use fashion and clothing as a way to express myself and i’ll continue learning and growing though this amazing internship. Congrats to all the upcoming CollegeFashionistas and may all of us continue rocking on this next semester.
