In J.Crew’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection, wide leg pants are a key element in the runway show. In the collection, the pants’ legs are big enough to become a skirt. Tight and skinny are not the key fashion elements anymore; people want something comfortable. I really like wide-leg pants and think they are sassy. It doesn’t matter if you are plus size or skinny, it is a good choice for all seasons, regardless of the texture and patterns. It also can match different kinds of tops and shoes.
I chose a gray cropped wide-leg pant with a pair of black tights because it is winter. I wore a navy sweater with a blue denim shirt underneath and a black wool coat with leather sleeves. For shoes, a pair of brown oxfords made the whole look more vintage. I also wore a vintage watch with a brown watch strap from Hermès. I did not want my whole look to be too dark, so I chose a red cross-body bag. Also, I wore a red lip to match the bag.
I feel that vintage is the “it” trend right now. You can have a vintage look with the right accessories and colors. Red and brown are always the good choices for a vintage look. Instead of the real red color, I recommend a darker red in the winter season, and maybe a orange-red in the spring and summer. Choose a lip that flatters your skin tone.
