STYLE GURU STYLE: What's Black And White And Fabulous All Over?

Aganovich‘s ready-to-wear fall 2014 was anything but ordinary. This collection was filled with structured silhouettes and ensembles inspired by 19th-century magicians. The color palette was one of my personal favorites—all black and white. It featured long black coats with black pants and the occasional white hem detailing or a white blouse underneath. They are all very dramatic looks that would definitely get a double take when worn on the street and that’s just one of the reasons why I adore this collection.

I decided to interpret and take inspiration from this collection into my own outfit. I figured this was the perfect collection to do this with because I own mostly black. The color goes with just about everything and always looks so chic, especially when combined with white and a pop of color.

This outfit was inspired by her third look. I had a similar coat from Urban Outfitters, so I threw that on over a white blouse with a higher neck emulating the silhouettes from the collection and paired it with rolled-up black jeans to complement my black ankle booties. To add some flair, I incorporated a pop of mustard yellow with a big, warm scarf for the chillier winter days. I further styled this look by pulling my hair back in a pony because it is casual and easy, and all the models sported pulled-back hair. It adds to the structured and powerful vibe that this collection exudes. I definitely see myself taking inspiration from this runway show many more times before this winter season is over.

Get My Look: 1. Structured long black coat or blazer. 2. Feminine white blouse. 3. Oversized mustard scarf. 4. Black skinny jeans.
