STYLE GURU STYLE: Walking Art

Alexander Wang is well-known for his cool downtown style. Taking inspiration from his spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection, I feel like I am a fashion geek who randomly puts seemingly unrelated elements together. I love the geometric pattern and sporty style of this ready-to-wear collection. Like Wang said, “Fashion should be fun. You should be able to run with it and make it your own.” He is a fashion genius who is good at playing with all-black, sporty wear and futurism. Fashion is a way to create your own art. Choosing your outfits for the day is like making an art piece. The funky and sporty masterpiece that Wang showed to us gives me a new definition of fashion.

This Fashionista mixed her look with several geometric pattern from her pants, headwrap, bag and top. It is really hard to make black and white look very busy. But this Fashionista creates a sporty and boho feeling only with these two colors. The lace perforated design of the shirt also brings in a little bit feminine element to the overall look. My favorite item from the Fashionista’s look  is the platform sandals. Though they are like heels and have height, their style is more like sneakers, like those sporty shoes we have seen in the runway. The the black and white satchel by Zac Posen is a pretty universal bag for different situations. You can wear it either to work or to shopping. Also, the straight lines on the headwrap provides a vivid contrast to the geometric pattern of the pants.

Get My Look: 1. Chunky soled sandals. 2. Pashli backpack. 3. Perforated dress.
