STYLE GURU STYLE: Two Piece Sets

Coordinates or two-piece matching sets are all the rage right now. Not only is almost every celebrity rocking these sets, from Kim Kardashian to the Instagram beauty guru Amrezy, but they have been making appearances on the runway as well. Nina Ricci, Marc Jacobs and Alexander Wang are all featuring these ensembles, making them a fresh look this summer.

It was just recently my 20th birthday, and I decided to try this trend out. I wanted an outfit that was comfortable but still looked stylish and wasn’t too revealing all at the same time. I love the idea of matching sets. It eliminates the hastle of trying to find tops to match a skirt or vice versa. Believe it or not, my look was from Charlotte Russe. The stripe pattern is one of my favorites and it caught my eye immediately when I entered the store. I loved the crop top and the high waisted skirt. There was a little bit of skin showing, but it wasn’t an overwhelming amount.

When accessorizing the look, I decided to pair my outfit with minimal jewelry to not overpower it. I added in simple studded earrings and my two favorite rings. I finished off the striped look with floral T-strap heels. I have always had an obsession with pairing florals and stripes. I think they add a feminine touch to a somewhat androgynous nautical print. There are so many different types of two-piece sets around in a variety of patterns. They have floral, stripes and even solids. I also paired a bright colored bag with the look to pull out one of the colors in the shoes.

Get My Look: 1. Crop top. 2. Coordinating high-waisted skirt. 3. Pattern T-strap heels.
