STYLE GURU STYLE: Turtlenecks

You can always count on Chanel to put on a dramatic show during the international collections. Fall 2014 was definitely one of those shows that we’ll not soon forget. It’s still being talked about seasons later! The show was set in a Chanel grocery store complete with Chanel shopping baskets and all Chanel branded food. Aside from the set, the collection itself definitely stunned and set a lot of trends too. Some of the biggest ones were “fashion sneakers” and the turtleneck. These looks are everywhere, from the shelves at Topshop, H&M and Forever 21, to all over the street style blogs.

While I absolutely loved the Chanel versions of the turtlenecks that Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner wore down the runway, I just can’t pull off such dramatic looks for my everyday wardrobe. Not to mention, the sweaters with holes in them everywhere just wouldn’t suffice in this freezing cold winter. Instead, I opted for this awesome laid back version from Madewell. I’ve been seeing this sweater everywhere and I just had to have it. I love the “Bon Voyage” writing across the front because it speaks to my constant need to travel. I paired it with my go-to jeans and Chelsea boots and my everyday carryall bag.

I love this outfit because its super easy, on-trend and comfortable. You can throw on jeans and the turtleneck sweater early in the morning after a long night of studying and not have to worry about looking put together. The statement turtleneck sweater does the work for you!

Get My Look: 1. A sweater. 2. A pair of jeans. 3. A bag.
