STYLE GURU STYLE: Tropical Oasis

The summer heat is here, and I am dreaming of paradise. Sadly, I can only dream about it. The closest physical object I have to paradise is my tropical graphic T-shirt, which makes me feel like I am on a tropical island, sipping on margaritas, while lying on the beach. It is a great, bold graphic T-shirt that brings color and brightness to my outfit.

My tropical inspiration came from Nicole Miller’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection where she combined tropical prints with black and white patterns. She created different pieces in the collection by using tropical patterns on shirts, shorts and dresses that can be worn day or night. Each piece gave a soft feminine touch, but still made a bold statement with the combination of dramatic patterns. They are all great pieces to add to your summer wardrobe for hot summer weather or wear on your next adventurous tropical vacation. Her collection can be transitioned into everyday looks that any Fashionista can pull off.

I loved the way she combined different tropical prints and patterns to make the looks more dynamic and really make them pop. It is a great way to show Fashionistas that you shouldn’t be afraid to mix and match different prints and be imaginative with your outfits.

One of the runway looks that stood out to me the most was a tropical shirt with a pair of black and white shorts and a lightweight black jacket. It is an effortless look that can be created with any bright, floral or graphic T-shirt and black or white shorts for an easy, everyday look. What I did was pair my polka-dot shorts with my tropical graphic top and my favorite leather jacket that I can’t live without to create this easy, rocking tropical outfit.

Get My Look: 1. A tropical shirt. 2. Polka-dot shorts. 3. A leather jacket.
