STYLE GURU STYLE: This Will Stripe You Away

For my look today, I took my inspiration from J.Crew spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection. I have always loved how thoughtful and classic their pieces are. If you were to look in my closet, 90 percent of it is decked out in J.Crew. Their pieces never go out of style and they look great on almost everyone. This collection is unique because you can take those clothes and create something with your own wardrobe. J.Crew is known for their bright colors and patterns. I feel like this one has a lot of plaid in it. For example, one model is dressed in two different shades of blue in plaid, which is different but trendy. There are also a lot of stripes in this collection. Overall, I really enjoyed seeing this collection of J.Crew and what they created.

As I was scrolling through the collection, I came across this shirt that I recently bought at J.Crew. I just thought it was funny that I already had it in my closet before even looking at the collection. So I am wearing the shirt along with a simple black skirt and a blue, pink and white rope belt. I am also wearing white canvas wedges to complete my look. I added my own touch to my outfit by putting on a gold knot ring, my monogrammed cuff, a gold bracelet and gold dangly earrings. To keep the sun out of my eyes I added a pair of black shades with blue reflective lenses. You need to be wearing protective sunglasses, especially during these last summer days. That is a must!

The only thing that is not from J.Crew from my look is the sunglasses, earrings, ring and the bracelet. The earrings and ring are from Madewell, who is actually a partner with J.Crew. I love putting my personal input on my looks because it tells people who I am. I like seeking out these ready-to-wear collections because each outfit has their own story. They are rare and special, which I adore. I feel like I will never stop shopping at J.Crew. They keep thinking of fresh new ideas that blow my mind.
