STYLE GURU STYLE: Summertime Casual

Is there another way for us to stay cool without having to break out the sundresses and skirts 24/7? They’re not a bad thing, don’t get me wrong, but what if you aren’t in a sundress or skirt mood? There should be more options in what we can wear other than sundresses and skirts or at least provide us with ways to switch up our everyday clothing into a new style never thought of.

The J.Crew spring 2015 ready-to-wear line provided many different options for looks I say could replace a day or two of dress and skirt routine wear (minus the jackets, unless for a tag a long, just in case you find yourself getting cool).

The specific look that came to my attention was look number four. It instantly reminded me of something that could be worn to the beach with sandals or barefoot or on a nice trip to an outlet mall with a pair of sneakers.

The shirt and pants give off a loose and comfortable feel while the heels and bracelet offer some style and elegance to the look. The clutch purse gives a great pop of color and draws the eye to the entire outfit.

What I did to translate this style into my own was search through my closet! I found this blue blouse from Banana Republic and my favorite pair of blue jean capris pants from JCPenney. I threw the whole look together with a pair of colorful wedges from Mossimo (that I can finally fit into).

It also looks like my floral cross-body bag made another guest appearance. The straps were able to be taken off to give it a clutch bag look.

With this look, the sky is the limit of what color any of the pieces are. Whatever you see fit to work, go with it and rock it!

Get My Look: 1. Blouse. 2. Capris pants. 3. Wedges.
