STYLE GURU STYLE: Styling Wardrobe Essentials

I believe that filling your closet with essential basics is the key to getting the most out of your wardrobe. Sticking to a color palette that works for your own personal style, investing in quality pieces, and making fit a top priority can all contribute to a wonderful and versatile closet.

The look featured above is one of my current favorite outfits. It includes a mix of some of my staple pieces that I know will always make me feel confident. First, I decided to wear my gray, faux suede motorcycle jacket that I had picked up last fall. I love how its different than a standard black motorcycle jacket but still has incredible versatility. The silver hardware is also a little detail that I admire. I then paired with it a cropped, black turtleneck sweater. The sweater keeps the focus on the jacket while still keeping me warm. Plus, I feel like turtlenecks and motorcycle jackets pair nicely together.

As for bottoms, I have been loving these medium blue wash boyfriend jeans. I can enthusiastically say that I have finally found a flattering style of boyfriend jeans for my body! These baggy jeans are perfect for this outfit because they contrast well with the form-fitting sweater. I finished off my outfit with a standard pair of black booties. These are another staple in my closet because not only are they durable, but they also look great with many different types of looks.

This outfit can be worn for a day spent on campus to a fun weekend outing. With a closet full of key items, the amount of outfit possibilities are endless!
