STYLE GURU STYLE: Street Style

We’ve all been there—sitting in the corner of our favorite coffee shop, working away on our latest project and silently observing the other customers—when someone walks in wearing a super RAD outfit. Of course we take notice and have to fight the urge to snap a sneaky picture to reference later. Or perhaps we are sitting at home, watching New York Fashion week and taking photos of our favorite looks. Street style inspires us wherever we go.

My latest inspiration came from the fall 2016 ready-to-wear fashion show in Milan. Andreas Melbostad, creative director of Diesel Black Gold, showed a street style vibe collection filled with bold pieces and dark colors. From leather jackets and skirts to oversized boots, each look kept me craving more and I was so sad to see the end.

My closet is already filled with navy blue and black colors as well as unique jackets, so translating this runway style into my own look was simple. Keeping with the blue, black and white color palette, I began with a simple pair of black pants and a black turtleneck. Next came the statement. This navy blue, patterned bomber jacket and bright white shoes pop off of my black base nicely, and a silver statement necklace and ring help tie the look all together. The finished look is slightly edgy yet put together, making it perfect for class or a day out and about downtown.

Get My Look: 1. Quilted bomber jacket. 2. Any black skinny jeans. 3. High-tops. 4. Black turtleneck shirt. 5. Statement jewelry.
