STYLE GURU STYLE: Squared² To Perfection

The Dsquared² spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection was an immediate favorite of mine from the time it hit the runway. The collection ranged from bright-colored, structured garments to more relaxed and casual pieces. Dsquared² is and has always been a favorite of mine because they always seem to hit the nail right on the head and this collection was no different. What made me really love these designs was the way they mixed formal wear with basic pieces making them perfectly chic ready-to-wear outfits.

I was extremely inspired by look 28 in the collection. Today I decided to not exactly replicate the look but pull inspiration from it. I chose to keep the slouchy denim look by sporting my absolute favorite pair of boyfriend jeans and pairing them with a white cotton cropped T-shirt just like in the look. When it came to the accessories of the outfit I decided to mix it up a bit and opted for a light and bright colored kimono instead of the heavier looking embellished jacket in the look. As for the shoes, I don’t own a sandal similar to the one in the look, so I dawned my favorite metallic gold and white platforms.

This spring 2015 collection really inspired me to start playing with color a bit more, which is a tough thing for this girl right here. However, Dean and Dan Caten have taught me that I need to go a little outside my comfort zone and start adding wilder colorful items to my daily looks!

Get My Look: 1. A comfortable pair of jeans. 2. A fun pair of platform sandals. 3. A colorful kimono.
