STYLE GURU STYLE: Spring Skirts

I love big midi, A-line skirts. They have a retro feel that I have always adored. As I was looking through the Michael Kors spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection and his pre-fall 2015 collection,, I noticed many of those types of skirts. There were floral skirts, lace skirts and some pleated skirts. I loved them all!

So on my recent trip to Spain I decided I would give the trend my own, more casual, take. I wear black all the time. Black is a timeless and classic color which, worn correctly, could look chic rather than gothic. But on hot spring days it could be heat absorbing, so I chose my outfit pieces according to the weather.

To start off I am wearing my Banana Republic skirt. Since it was about 80 degrees, I chose to pair the skirt with my Zara tank top. This tank top is lightweight and goes perfect with any outfit. Then I have my trusty Steve Madden flats, which have come with me through Los Angeles and Europe and have done me very well! Since I am not a fan of the way sunglasses look on me, I prefer to wear cute hats. This one comes from American Apparel a few years back. Finally, I always finish my look off with a pop of color on my lips. I love the look of bright red lips to pull together an all black ensemble. Once that is complete I am ready for another day of wonderful adventures!

Of course an all black outfit is not everyone’s cup of tea, so feel free to play with patterns and different colors such as with this skirt that I love. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed.
