STYLE GURU STYLE: Sporty and Bold

Do you think about what you’re going to wear tomorrow while you’re still in the shower? I ask myself about 99 questions before I style an outfit. Haha, get it? On a serious note, I go through what sounds like a never ending list of questions when thinking about an upcoming look. It goes something like this: What is the weather like? What are my plans? How do I feel? What kind of hair day is it? What has inspired me lately? You get the point.

A few fashion designers have taken the good ol’ military uniform to new heights for spring 2015. The Vetements spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection featured my favorite military looks of the season. I love how the two prints of camouflage complement each other and I felt daring enough to recreate this look by adding a few touches of my own.

I started off with my favorite military T-shirt from Forever 21. Awhile back, I was on a mission to find the perfect hues in a military print T-shirt and, luckily, found one that was extremely affordable. To keep warm on this windy day, I opted for a moto jacket that has great detailing on the shoulders and sleeves with zippers. To incorporate the sporty trend, I went straight for my black Nike Air Max sneakers with cheetah print detailing. The combination of both military and cheetah print gave my outfit a unique twist.

At this point, I was feeling bad to the bone and knew exactly how to add a bold kick of femininity. I reached for my all time favorite lip color, MAC’s Ruby Woo lipstick. I top this lipstick off with MAC’s Cherry lip pencil. This trick helps accentuate the color and extends the wear.

I’m finally ready to go, but I can’t leave the house without sunnies! I’m obsessed with sunglasses and my collection is pretty much out of control. My current favorite are a pair of cat-eye sunnies from NASTY GAL. These pieces were styled together well, and I would wear them again to feel trendy and daring!
