STYLE GURU STYLE: Simplistic With A Twist

A couple years ago, I was a huge fan of simple, monochrome pieces, and it seems this trend won’t be leaving for a while. Tom Ford showcased exactly this in his Fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection, with a twist. He incorporated black and white with pops of color here and there, interesting lines and shapes, and chunky necklaces with big earrings to make his designs more intriguing.

Inspired by the best, I styled my American Apparel dress with my new sheep wool cropped jacket from BDG. My dress is what I consider to be the perfect happy medium of both simple and statement. The alternating black and white striped pattern creates an interesting and captivating illusion. Paired with the jacket, I must say, this dress looks better than ever! I could have simply thrown on my denim jacket over it again, but I wanted to mix it up and make this outfit pop just a little bit more, just like Tom Ford made his models standout on the runway.

The looks in his Fall 2015 collection are edgy, simple, and beautiful and inspire me to incorporate elegance into every outfit, but to also stay true to rocking what I love most: statement pieces.

Statement pieces like my dress or even my wool coat can come in and out of style, but simplistic outfits will always be in. Tom Ford’s collection embraces classic, simple looks with a brand new, iconic twist.

Get My Look: 1. This babydoll dress. 2. a bomber jacket. 3. Boots: high or low.
