STYLE GURU STYLE: Say Ciao To Bold Dresses and Jewels!

I have always been in love with Dolce&Gabbana, as their designs speak to my playful soul and resemble the vivacity that is ever-present in this wild life. The spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection by Dolce&Gabbana is inspired by vivacious Italian style and culture, focusing mostly on flamboyance and color. I was inspired by this collection because it incorporated everything I love about Dolce&Gabbana, and the realm of style as a whole — truly identifying with a playful spirit and an abundant world. This collections take on wonderful Italian culture was more than inspiring. It paired lacy pieces with wild colors and designs, both graphic and natural, alongside some classic black silhouettes and playful tulle. The designs and colors with the addition of beautiful jewelry made this collection so marvelous and so very Dolce&Gabbana.

My look was inspired by the playful Italian culture and style reflected in this collection, that is undyingly classic and yet still modern. I am wearing a red crocheted dress, with the same hue and style as look #25 in the collection. Look #53 is also in a similar style to this form of dress. The simple red slip dress beneath can also be used many times, with the addition of a cute jacket or long denim shirt. My style is all about easily being able to transition from day to night, with the addition and/or changing of a few key pieces. The gold wedges I am wearing here allow my look to be geared toward the evening, however the swap of wedges for sandals can easily change the entire look.

In true Dolce&Gabbana fashion (no pun intended), I added glamorous necklaces and simple bracelets. I wore a vintage jeweled necklace from my great aunt, as well as a long necklace with a vintage gold lion head dangling at the bottom. Accessories are essential for Dolce&Gabbana in adding to an already beautiful ensemble. I love the concept of throwing on a magnificent dress, adding a necklace and a few bracelets/bangles and suddenly being dressed for an evening out.

I am a strong advocate for throwing on a dress and a necklace and looking put together, without trying too hard. A beautiful dress and a stunning necklace and/or other accessories can bring your everyday/evening style up a notch. The trick, is to find a dress that flatters your body type, which is not always an easy task. Dolce&Gabbana always has beautiful silhouettes that exemplify different types of figures, as most dresses synch at the waist, which is always flattering regardless if you are a size 2 or a size 12; the human body is a beautiful thing and we should all confidently rock our own. My style is ever-changing, however, I always stay true to flattering silhouettes, colorful and vivacious designs and pieces that reflect the sort of playful lifestyle I so enjoy.
